Statement: May your choices reflect your hopes, 1 November 2018

Mr. Speaker, I am proud to the MLA for Memramcook-Tantramar and to sit with the Green party. As MLA I am here at the Legislative Assembly to represent my riding.

I want to work with other MLAs and I think we have some significant work to do together. I have looked at the Throne Speech content and think that many of the items would be good for my riding and for the province. I am giving the Liberals the benefit of the doubt. I’m not normally at a loss for words, but I found myself struggling to explain how I will vote on the Throne Speech. So, I will borrow some language from Nelson Mandela: “May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.”

That is why I am willing to vote with the Liberals tomorrow and willing to work together towards the initiatives outlined in their Throne Speech.

Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
